Well, it’s been a busy summer and we’re about to get things moving on the refurbishment. We still have some seats available (see last post) to be taken away, although there is about 20 of them spoken for. One young Artist who asked for some of the seats was a gentleman by the name of Richard Carr. He was a student in Wexford College of Art and I managed to get down to see that show in early summer. Richard’s work involved four booths each of which lighting was controlled by the one of the others in the midst of a squally white noise – very disorientating – but with the opportunity for much variation in his future work. I was happy to see his email and hope the seats will find an interesting home in one of his pieces in the future. Nenagh Arts Centre is located in the old Town Hall building in Banba Square, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary, Ireland -just across from the Courthouse. The Town Hall building is about to undergo refurbishment over the next year to upgrade the existing theatre and venue. I want to use this blog to track the work taking place in the building and hope that the blog could become a reference point for any other arts and community development organisations doing work of a similar nature.
